Welcome to the new Dabblings.net!

We're moving over to a wordpress/blog format for easier updates.  Older links are still there if you're looking for the DIY LED lights (http://www.dabblings.net/subpage2.html), as well as the others, but they'll be moved into this format over the coming week(s).

NEWS

We're just starting to test out some low priced LED bulbs that are direct replacements for your incandescents or CFL's.  They use only five watts and replace a 40W bulb.  The results are mixed at the moment, with the "warm white" winning out over the "cool white" - the first time in a long time that a warm appears brighter. Pictures to follow

In the grow light department, our fluorescent replacement "surgery" went great!  The company I'd originally bought the older bulbs from sent me two replacement bulbs and two transformers - one for each bulb.  With a little configuring, they fit into the original (also known as "cheap") housing, and the plants are loving them!  One is a cool white, one's a warm white (that looks a little yellow - recommend the cool white).  Prices are coming down, but you can still make your own a bit cheaper if you look around.

In the DIY department, we're in the works for figuring out how to figure and configure LED's for your own DIY LED customizations - more to follow, as I've got a lot of irons in the fire.
